The Summer Kent Stater: "By the time Green Day could come back again they were big shots on MTV and proud holders of a new recording deal with Reprise. So this very same band I saw at the Euclid Tavern with 50 other people was now selling out Peabody’s and was called alternative. I tip my hat to Green Day for sticking to their music and working to get somewhere. What made me angry about them coming through was that suddenly I couldn’t see them because their show sold out. Green Day sold out? I couldn’t believe it. Well my anger passed, and Green Day came and went."
