"Bang Bang" hits #1 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Songs chart

Green Day's lead single from Revolution Radio has now hit #1 on the latest Billboard Mainstream Rock Songs chart.

Updated for the week of September 10th, "Bang Bang" has moved up four spots from #5 to take over the top spot on the chart. The song joins three other Green Day tracks in getting to #1 on the chart: "Know Your Enemy," "Holiday," and "Boulevard of Broken Dreams."

As Billboard points out, "Bang Bang" is the fastest to rise to the top from its chart debut three weeks ago since the Foo Fighters' "Something From Nothing" in 2014, which took two weeks. Prior to the Foo's accomplishment, no song had taken three weeks or fewer since Metallica's "The Day That Never Comes" from 2008.

"Bang Bang" has made moves on other Billboard charts as well:

Mediabase has also updated their charts for Active Rock and Alternative format stations in the US. "Bang Bang" has moved up to #2 on the Active Rock chart and up to #7 on the Alternative chart.
