Mike Byrne: "Then they played in May of 1992 with Citizen Fish..."
"Green Day played McGregor's twice if I remember correctly. I saw them there with Citizen Fish opening."
Scott Lucas: "Green Day is there, and the first time I saw them [Billie Joe Armstrong] was wearing a Cheap Trick shirt."
OpenFace: "Also, Billie Joe asked, just as he did two years ago, if anyone in the crowd remembered McGregor's (and Dimitri the stripper)."
Angel Ledezma: "I too was at this show. I concur with Mike, it was jam packed. Citizen Fish was great. I brought a large-sized Hershey PB Kiss & I thought Tre Cool was a girl."
Kelly Sullivan-Cappellini: "I believe Amy and I were competing to see which one of us could look like a bigger idiot. We had a blast, though! That night Billie and I waxed philosophy over Motley Crue, tortilla chips and salsa. I think the tour package I sent won Billie over forever. Days of the week panties are always good to have on the road."
Jeff Winterkorn: "So many great bands and great people. I think you had just gotten out of boot camp and this was definitely one of those big shows, where the line wrapped around the building. Green Day?"
junip: "I also pissed next to Billie Joe Armstrong (of Green Day fame) at McGregor's during the Kerplunk! tour. That'd be pre-Dookie for all you young-uns. It didn't occur to me to look."
Jack Miller: "I saw them at McGregor's outside Chicago last summer and it was a lot of fun. Would have been even better if they could get it through their heads that their songs CANNOT HOLD AN AUDIENCE for longer than three minutes, they're not interesting enough to go on and on and on. That ten-minute rendition of Road To Acceptance made me want to leave."
Tre Cool: "Demitri was this male stripper that came onstage for some girl's birthday at McGregor's one night. They had her sit in this chair and the stripper did his thing for her. It was fuckin' hilarious. In the middle of our show too; we took a timeout and let her get her strip on. I think that was the last time we played McGregor's actually. I remember seeing State Street and I remember taking acid in Chicago. I remember going to the lake and wondering why all the fish were dead. I was inside Buckingham Fountain too. It was real hot out and I got in there during the Blues Fest. There were like a million people down there, but just one in the fountain. Of course this cop was like, 'Get the fuck out of there. What are you thinking?' I was like, 'I don't know. I'm fried, dude.'"
