Date: January 1, 1989
Notes:
  • Exact date unknown
  • Man Of Leisure M.: "Green Day when they known as Sweet Children and were just teens having fun in a band."
  • marinduqueawaitsyou: "Since the publication of the book, I’ve gotten emails from past Cloynes who have lived there and everyone has a raucous memory or two to tell. And lots of Clones remember when a new unknown band called Sweet Children (now known as Green Day) played a set in the dining room as an opening act for other punk rock bands. The police arrived and shut the party down."
  • ‎Peter Oberdorfer‎: "When I was social manager there for 3 of the years, we threw huge parties called '99 cent parties', and got hundreds of people from the outside invading the house. Kinda on the verge of out of control. We had Green Day play in our cafeteria, on a makeshift stage of boards and milk crates... Well before their American Idiot days. They played for $200, and brought their own amp... We had other great bands, too. We'd paint murals on the walls, and there was a vending machine with beer in it in the cafeteria. Great place to be at 20 years old."
