kopper: "...This was about a year after I had gotten Green Day a show on short notice at the Bottleneck (also in Lawrence). They crashed at our house on Maine St. and screen-printed T-shirts on our front porch. ...Green Day stayed at my house in Lawrence, KS, in late summer 1990 and I got them a last-minute show at the Bottleneck opening for some local band and playing for 13 people. I played the owner their 39/Smooth cassette and he agreed to let them play."
