Song Meaning

This song is about a sleepover, quite obviously. The narrator and the other character in question are together at a party, which doesn't seem to be entertaining enough for them. The narrator offers to take the other character home with him, because both of them are feeling lonely. The line "I gotta know if you're the one that got away" implies that the two had a previous relationship together, and the narrator wants to take a shot at rekindling it. He becomes so obsessed with taking the other character home that it becomes very urgent to him "Well I ain't got much time...".
